Leituras de Férias / Holiday Reading #1

Férias implicam dias passados na praia, longos passeios de carro com vista a conhecer novos lugares, descansar, sempre acompanhada por um livro (ou mais que um!).

Não consigo imaginar umas férias sem longas sessões de leitura e, por isso, vou mostrar as obras escolhidas para esta altura do ano.

Holidays are all about spending days at the beach, long car drives in order to meet new places and resting, always with a book by your side (or more than one!)

I can't even start to imagine holidays without long reading sessions and because of that I'm going to show you the books I chose.

1) "Crime Story Collection" de Sara Paretsky e outros

Acho este livro ideal para se levar para a praia, uma vez que é constituído por 8 contos (todos eles são à volta de crimes e sua resolução) e é super divertido de ler. 

É uma leitura rápida e fácil, mas muito boa.

2) "Adeus, Berlim" de Wolfgang Herrndorf

Esta obra fala-nos de dois rapazes que partem numa aventura durante as férias.

Escolhi-o por parecer um livro super cativante e intenso, ótimo para se ler nas grandes tardes de calor.

3) "Os Maias" de Eça de Queiroz

"Os Maias" é um clássico da literatura portuguesa que retrata a história da família Maia, especialmente Carlos. 

Este livro explora a vida em Lisboa, na época, focando-se nesta família.

Apesar de ser um livro totalmente diferente dos outros, mais pesado e menos descontraído, eu acho interessantíssimo a viagem até à Lusboa do século XIX.

1) "Crime Story Collection" by Sara Paretsky and others

I think this is the ideal book to take to the beach because there are 8 short stories, all related to crimes and murders.

It is super quick, easy and fun to read.

2) "Why We Took the Car" by Wolfgang Herrndorf

This book tells the story of two boys who go on and adventure during their holidays.

I chose it because the reviews are great and it looks like it's very intense and captivating. Great to read on these hot afternoons.

3) "The Maias" by Eça de Queiroz

"The Maias" is a portuguese's literature classic which tells us about the Maia Familly, especially Carlos.

It explores life in Lisbon at that time.

Although it is more "heavy" and "ceremonial" than the rest I enjoy the trip to Lisbon in the XIXth century.
